HAMPTON--  Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for two others in connection with a Hampton murder.

On Wednesday police arrested Lequis Avari Williams for a homicide that occurred on Dec. 1, 2012.

According to police, an officer on routine patrol around 1:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Seldendale Drive heard shots being fired.

Officers investigated and found 19-year-old Bartholomew Kyle Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Robinson and a 19-year-old Newport News female were sitting inside a Dodge Caliber when they were approached by three suspects.

An argument ensued and one suspect allegedly shot into the vehicle killing Robinson.

The suspects allegedly stole money and personal effects from the victims before running from the scene.

Police say the circumstances surrounding this incident appear to be drug related.

Williams is charged with one count of murder, two counts of robbery, two counts of abduction and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Williams was also served with outstanding warrants for one count of burglary, one count of misdemeanor assault and battery and one count of misdemeanor larceny.

Williams is currently in custody at the Hampton City Jail.

Anyone with information that will help police locate the two additional suspects is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 727-6111 or Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
