An animal cruelty case has a local animal shelter full.
The Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter could not house the the 70 dogs animal control officers removed from a breeding business in Gray, Tennessee.
Director of the animal shelter, Debbie Dobbs, tells the Johnson City Press they're familiar with the dogs' owner.
Authorities say that owner is 55-year-old Barbara Perry Christian. She's expected to appear in court on December 13th on 35 citations of animal cruelty and 35 rabies vaccination violations.
Animal control officers checked out her breeding business last week and removed the dogs.
Christian told the animal shelter she had health problems and that's why the conditions at her kennel were bad.
