RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Governor Bob McDonnell and First Lady Maureen McDonnell will host the 2012 Capitol Tree lighting ceremony.

The tree arrived at the Capitol from southwest Virginia.

The event will feature a tribute to our military, and appearances by Santa and the Virginia National Guard 29th band.

The events starts at 5 p.m. Friday at the Virginia State Capitol.
