Anne Hathaway's Daring Red Carpet Look

Anne Hathaway has had some risqué movie roles in the past, like her frequently unclothed turn in "Love and Other Drugs," but she usually keeps her look a bit conservative on the red carpet. That changed Monday evening at the New York City premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises," where she sported a daring, floor-length white Prabal Gurung dress with a plunging neckline.
And why shouldn't she be daring? She spent 10 months training for the role of Selena Kyle, aka Catwoman, in the last chapter of director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. She had to get in shape both for the exhausting choreography of the fight scenes and to fit into her spandex catsuit. During the live broadcast of the premiere, Hathaway said her training came in three phases: "First came the strength, and then much later the agility. After that it was about grounding it in grace." And to capture the character's feline sensibilities, she admitted, "I watched YouTube videos of cats."
Hathaway's shockingly short hairdo was courtesy of her next role in the big-screen adaptation of the musical "Les Miserable." She lopped off her locks to play the tragic character Fantine. Hathaway said that the lengths she goes for her roles "don't feel like sacrifices. Getting to transform is one of the best parts of [acting]."
