Greenbelt Middle School less than a mile away; Parkdale Senior High, 3 miles
away. No parochial or private schools in town but nearby.
Places of Worship: Berwyn United Presbyterian is the only church within
the town limits. However, within a 5- minute driving radius are Baptist, Catholic,
Episcopal, Lutheran, and Methodist churches, as well as a Jewish Synagogue.
Organizations: Boys and Girls Club, Guideness Society, Homemakers,
Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire Department, Majorettes, Quilting Club, Recreation
Council, Scouts, Senior Citizens Center, Sportsmen's Club, Women's Club.
Recreational Facilities: A town park with playground equipment features
outdoor basketball courts. A sports park provides a lighted field for softball
and baseball in spring and summer, and is lighted for football in the fall.
There is one paddleball court. Indoor facilities include basketball courts and

baseball, basketball, football, and soccer.
The town recreation council sponsors classes for children and adults as well
as various events and social functions throughout the year. The Boys Club administers
competitive sports for other areas in Maryland. There is a 1.5 mile hiker-biker
