on the summit of a range of hills known as Parrs Ridge, Mt. Airy has scenic
beauty enhanced by stretches of lower country on the east and the Blue Ridge

Mt. Airy was incorporated in 1896 and is of residential character. While most
of Mt. Airy is in Carroll County, a por- tion is in Frederick. It is about one
mile from Rte. 1-70, connecting Frederick City and Baltimore. Mount Airy has
been the fastest growing municipality in Carroll County, with a 47% growth rate
in the 80s. Home values range from $130,000 to $280,000, townhouses from $104,000
