A college freshman has been arrested after two of his friends and fellow students accused him of raping them over two consecutive nights.

Colin Kennedy, 18, from California, was arrested yesterday at Loyola University, Chicago, after the students, both 19, reported the sexual assaults to police.

Cook County prosecutors said both victims let him into their dorm rooms because he told them he was locked out of his room.

When he was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault, the 18-year-old was wearing a T-Shirt which said, 'Release the wizard inside of you'.

The international business student - who is said to be involved in the campus church - is being held on $300,000 bond.

Loyola University spokeswoman Maeve Kiley told ABC the alleged attacks occurred in Fordham Hall, a dorm that houses about 350 students.

Prosecutors said in the first attack on January 13, a 19-year-old woman who was a friend of Kennedy's returned to her room with him after a night out drinking.

She woke up in the middle of the night to find Kennedy sexually assaulting her but passed out again. When she woke up the next morning she was naked and Kennedy's clothes were on the floor.

The following night, the other victim let him sleep on her futon after she had a few people over. She alleged that after she fell asleep he climbed into her bed and started to grope her.

She tried to fight him off and told him no but he raped her.

Assistant State's Attorney Joell Zahr said the victim told her friends, including the first victim, and then reported the matter to police.

Kennedy’s attorney pointed to the lack of DNA evidence that ties his client to the crime and said he did not make any statements implicating himself.
